Adam and I hosted our third Computer Security 101 class today (thanks for everyone who came out for the class). We had a great turn out and look forward to doing the next one. Our main purpose of putting on these security classes is to educate the public about their options regarding computer and Internet security.
One thing we continue to learn is how much education is needed.
Computer security is extremely important but at the same is extremely confusing. You too can benefit from many of the things we teach in our class by simply browsing this web site. Use the search engine and search for security, spyware, viruses, backup and more. We have tons of tips and product links on our site that will help you get a handle on your own computer security. Start with this tip called "Castellini on Computers Approach to Security" [1] to get you going.
Remember, viruses, spyware, spam, etc are all 100% preventable and controllable with little effort on your part once the system is in place.
