Create Control Panel Shortuct on Desktop

Submitted by Rick on July 15, 2006 - 11:48am.
  • Solutions

Joey called and wanted to know how to create a Control Panel shortcut on his desktop in Windows XP. Here's the steps, and they work for any program:

  1. RIGHT Click on the Control Panel icon in the start menu (or any program icon)
  2. Hold the RIGHT button down and drag to your desktop
  3. Release the button and choose Create Shortcut

Mouse not clicking properly

Submitted by Smart Computer User on August 23, 2006 - 2:13pm.

Rick...I am running a HP Pavillion (Origional operating system was ME), I have since updated to XP Pro with 512 memory....Pentium III. Computer works great except I am having trouble with having to click my mouse many times to get it to engage (as many as 100+ clicks)....sometimes I can hold the click for several seconds until I can see that the icon changes and the mouse engages.

My virus killer is Norton Internet Security. I also have Spybot and Adware (Free versions) installed on my computer.
When the problem intensifies, I run spybot first and usually it finds several problems: Double Click/Avenue A, Inc./Fast Click/ Advertising.com/Hit Box/Wild Tangent. Ad-aware will then also find tracking cookies that I also check mark to dispose of.

After running these two programs (Spybot/Ad-Aware), my computer will behave better for a short while and then the problem (Multiple mouse clicking) will return. Lately, I have needed to run these programs daily.

This problem pre-dated the update to XP Pro. I do not have any trouble with key strokes....only mouse clicks.

Do I have a virus (None is found when I scan with Norton) or am I not getting the Hard Drive cleaned from the spyware? How do I correct this situation??? How do I keep the spy ware from returning? It seems as if it is the same spyware that Spybot and Ad-Aware keep finding.

Hope you can help me as this is quite annoying.

My E-Mail address is dmcgaughey87266@yahoo.com
