Tax Day - Fairtax.org

Political talk is usually a no win situation. However, I believe that when it comes to taxes and our current system, we are all losers. I also whole heartedly believe that if we scrap this antiquated, corrupt current system we have and move to a level playing field, we can all win.

Please visit the Americans for Fair Tax web site and take the time to study and learn about this proposal and then write your congressman or woman and senators to encourage their support of this important proposal.

If this helped, consider buying me a beer or an Americano!

Fair Tax

Submitted by Smart Computer User on December 12, 2006 - 1:29am.

If the Fair Tax is passed, it will authorize a Federal Sales Tax. Unless the Constitutional Amendment that allowed income taxes is repealed at the same time, the Feds will be able to have both income taxes and sales taxes. Supporters of the Fair Tax claim that income taxes will go away, but you know better. As Paul Jones said above, Congress uses the tax system to manipulate the economy. This will never go away. It is the basis of all politics.

If you want to meaninfully reform the tax system, pass a Constitutional amendment to limit the total *EXPENDITURES* of Federal, State, County, Township, City and "Special District" entities to some fixed percentage of the Gross Domestic Product. Otherwise, we are headed for socialism. We are mostly there already.

I am wholeheartedly in favor of Fair Tax. I wrote my congressman and Senators. I got back a very lukewarm response. I think they use the tax system to hand out favors to their high paying constituents.m I like the fact that those who receive income from illegal sources will still have to pay taxes.
Paul Jones.
