Spare Backup off site backup solution

If I were on my death bed and had to give one piece of computer advice before I died, I can sum it up in one word - backup.

Any and all computer problems can be made less stressful if you just backup your data on a regular basis.

Spare Backup is a new software/subscription service that aims at taking the mystery out of backing up.

For as little as $9.99 per month you can setup a Spare Backup account and the company has made it as easy as possible to set up.

1. Buy the starter kit at a local office supply or computer store.

2. Install the software.

3. The software will analyze your computer.

4. Once your computer is analyzed and your software is installed, the program will track the files and folders that you use.

5. Anytime you work on or change a file it will be backed up through the Internet on secure servers.

Restoring the files is also a simple process.

The advantage to Spare Backup is that it backs up as you work without having to worry about it.

There are a few things to keep in mind though. You will need to store your critical files in the folder for the most reliable backup. You also will NEED a broadband connection. The price for one gig of backup is $9.99 each gig thereafter varies in price depending on which plan you sign up for. Backing up one gig over dial-up can easily take about a month.

Spare Backup also has a great, slightly cheesy, tutorial on their website.

If this helped, consider buying me a beer or an Americano!
