Changing your email address is easy

A new customer that I helped today uses AOL. She stated that she is frustrated with AOL's support, price, and continuous barrage of advertising among other things. In the next breath, however, she said that she couldn’t leave AOL because too many people know her at that address and it would be hard to change email addresses. (I hear this comment many times every week).

No matter who your Internet providers is, changing email addresses doesn’t take much time and can have the added benefit of reducing your daily spam intake. Once you get a new email address, send a group email (using Blind Carbon Copy) to everyone in your email address book. Note that some email providers may only let you send to 20-30 recipients at a time so that you don’t get tagged as a spammer). Make sure to include YOUR new address in the email. When you receive the email, you can then copy all the addresses to your new address book.

I also saw two more customers today who have signed up for the local cable company’s VoIP phone service. So far, I haven’t met anyone who was unhappy after giving up their traditional phone line.
