Automate your disk maintenance tasks

Submitted by pcsnpixels on December 6, 2005 - 10:01am.
  • Windows Tips

You probably realize that performing a regular scan disk and defrag on
your hard drives benefits your computing experience. However, did you know
that you can automate these mundane chores in Windows 98 and Me?

Using the Windows Task Scheduler, these tasks and many more can be
automated. Follow these steps to set up a task to run automatically:

  1. Click on Start -->Programs --> Accessories -->System Tools
    --> Maintenance Wizard
  2. Click on Express, then Next
  3. Choose a time period that suits your schedule for the tasks to run,
    then click Next
  4. Click Finish

Click here to download a
narrated movie outlining how to take control of your automated tasks even
further!
The file will take approximately 30 minutes to download
a on a 28.8 connection.

If this helped, consider buying me a beer or an Americano!
