Programs that seem to change at will

Submitted by Smart Computer User on May 13, 2007 - 4:52pm.

Same person here. It is NOT my Adobe (PDF) program giving me fits. It's WORD, from Office 2000. I'm sure it's a simple click or unclick of something....But WHAT? & WHERE?
I use a document made up of tables. The very first table has decided to disappear, when I 'print'. It's there on the screen (I work in print layout) Yet when I click on 'print preview', it's not there. Thus obviously it does not print. Someone please HELLLLLLP! I have been working on a issue for 2 nites and 3 days, with NO luck whatsoever.
Also I can paste this same table into an otherwise blank wordpad document and it works fine.
I've considered uninstalling & reinstalling Office 2000. However, if this file (+15 others which I made from this file) is corrupt, it will be for naught. For once I go to use these files (in the reinstalled program) the problem will remain.

Office 2000

Submitted by Smart Computer User on May 13, 2007 - 7:33pm.

My Office Word 2000 simply decided to fail. I attempted to load a short document into it and it came up in code and gibberish. I could NOT get it to open any other way. A guru told me it likely was worn out??? And I needed to buy new software...no thanks! char

Char, "Worn out"?? I too find that very hard to believe. With the cd in hand why not perform the UNinstall, REinstall process?
