This week Roger called our show at the perfect moment. We had just finished discussing how our show is targeted at average home users, not at geeks. We have edited out some of his question, but you will get the idea. Listen to the full cut. It is the perfect example of the type of questions we don't answer on the program.

No geek policy

Submitted by Smart Computer User on February 26, 2007 - 11:38am.

I absolutely loved Rick's response to Roger the geek: "I have no idea what he just said." As a semi-newbie, the first thought that popped into my mind was, if Roger knows half as much as he sounds like he knows, why is he calling a radio show for info?
We ran into a similar-type sales guy at a computer store that talked up a heck of an impressive line, but had to go ask another sales person who appeared to know less just to get the answer to a relatively simple question. Go figure. I guess people are just funny.
I have a policy similar to your no geek policy, which I call the "no smoke-blowing" policy. Thanks for the chuckle!
P.S. By the way, what's the difference between upper case "Geek" and lower case "geek", Adam?
