Wow, what a computer!
With the upcoming Windows Vista (which I don't like, but need to learn for my business), I knew that my almost five year old computer wasn't going to cut the mustard. So, tonight, with the help of our very own computer bargain guru Tedd and some feedback from Adam, I purchased a new system. $669 after rebates for a beast of a machine was too good to pass up. It is an HP with 2 GB of RAM, 250 GB hard drive, DVD Burner, and like all new computers today, a built in memory card reader. Click here to view the machine that I purchased. After weeks of studying, comparing, and wondering, I took the advice I give to our callers and my customers and bit the bullet. I think the computer should provide me years of service. Now I just have to get all the junk that comes pre-installed on the thing off.

Better results for me
I have a hp desktop I bought many years ago. No problems at all. Using right now as a matter of fact. Model 8662C. Works well with DSL. I'm sure you will love it
HP
Please keep us updated on how that HP works for you. I love HP - I worked in their printed circuit board division for awhile, & have always had great success with their programmable calculators and printers. However, the HP Pavilion computer that I treated myself to when I graduated college was the biggest lemon I've ever had. The insult of the thing not working well (even after a warratied mother board replacement) added to the injury of me special ordering it from a Best Buy store, waiting weeks for it to come in, and paying way too much for it. (A lot of lessons later realized...) Since then I've stayed away from HP computers, but that was years ago, before the Compaq merger. I'd be interested to find out how yours holds up.
