TOPIC: Digital Camera Mini-lab
Come out and learn how to use the various
features of your digital camera.
We meet on the fourth Wednesday of every month
from
7-9 PM at the same place as the Computer Users Group.

2002 Archive Pages
The Grand Valley Digital Photography Users Group is for all people
interested in digital photography. Each month we meet to discuss topics and
see live demonstrations related to digital photography. The class is headed
up by Adam Cochran owner of PCs & Pixels
and is a Special Interest Group of
the Grand Valley Computer Users Group.
Cost for this class will be $10/person or $15/couple

Emailing Your Digital
Photos
A
few things to remember:
-
Always
save a copy of the ORIGINAL photo
-
You
can always go down on resolution, but you can never go up.
-
72
dpi for email and web - 300 dpi for printing
-
Never
email more than 150k of attachments
-
Black
& White takes up less space
How
to do it:
Outlook
Express
-
Create
a new email message.
-
Click
on the paperclip icon on the top toolbar.
-
Browse
for the file your photo is located in.
-
Double
click on that file.
Netscape
-
Open
Netscape Communicator.
-
Create
a new message.
-
Click
on the big paperclip "Attach"
-
Select
FILE.
-
Navigate
to the file you want to attach.
-
Double
click.
AOL
-
Start
your AOL program.
Click on mail center.
-
Go
down menu to write mail.
-
Open
it with the left mouse button.
-
In
the lower left corner is an attach button. Click it.
-
It
will open an attach window.
-
Click
on the attach button.
-
Another
window will open and at the top you will see a look in box.
-
Click
on the arrow to the right and go to, C:\.
-
Below
that, in the larger window, select the My photos folder.
-
Select
it and click on open.
-
Select
the photo you wish to send and hit the open button.
-
It
will attach the photo, or photos, and take you back to the attach box.
-
Click
on okay and it will be added to your email.
-
Once
you have composed your message, just hit the send now button to complete.
Resize
Using Pic2Mail
-
Double
click on the Pic2Mail icon (looks like an envelope).
-
Click
the BROWSE button at the top left.
-
Find
the folder where your pictures are located.
-
Picture
files should show up in the PHOTOS window.
-
Select
the photos that you want to resize. Select the photos you want to resize one
at a time and click ADD. Click ADD ALL to . . . um . . . add all.
-
Click
the PROCESS button at the bottom right to resize the selected photos.
-
New
copies of the resized photos can be found in the Pic2Mail coy folder or as a
Pic2Mail file on your desktop.
