Traders Redlands Closed
Trader's coffee shop on redlands closed 10/5/08.
Another hotspot
Bear Rock Cafe on hwy. 6&50 near sportsman's warehouse has free wi-fi. Cozy spot not very crowded.

So uncrowded it apparently went out of business last week of October '08.
Safeway
Safeway wifi is free and you can get a signal from the parking lot!

You can add the main Grand Junction Library building at 5th and Grand.
You may have to go into the building to get the signal, but hey, it's nice and quiet in there.
